Drivers License

So on Monday we went to the DMV to get our drivers licenses'. The wait was not bad at all. In order to get the license we had to take a written test that we definitely didnt really study for. We had a total of 36 questions and were allowed to miss 6. I was getting a little nervous when the lady was counting the ones I missed because I missed 5. haha. Kayli likes to rub in that she didnt miss one. haha.
Her brothers also went to get the licenses' and both passed. But because of wonderful California State Law they are not allowed to drive a vehicle with anybody under the age of 20 in the car with them. They were given a provisional drivers license because the state says that anybody under 18 has to have one for a year before they are allowed to drive people. However, her brothers have already had their licenses' for a year next month. But, because they had an Arizona license and not a California license, they have to have the provisional license. Which means, they are being punished for having and AZ license and moving here. Tom and Lisa are trying to argue this one. They are saying they had their license for a year under AZ law and they should not be punished in CA for that. It's like the state is saying you never drove before and your basically starting over like a 16 year old would. So once they are 18, next year, they can drive people.
I have gotten applications from many different stores such as, Express for Men, Pac Sun, Tilly's, Dick's, TMobile, and 24 hour Fitness. I will call back on them shortly and hope that one of them works out. It will be nice because minimum wage is $8 here.
Gas prices haven't gotten too bad yet. Last time we filled up it was $2.97. Not to bad. Diesel is only at $2.85 which is weird to see again. Diesel cheaper than gasoline.
On Sunday, Kayli and her family had to take me to the Chili Cook-Off in Simi Valley. They use to go all the time when they lived here and wanted to show me what it was. Honestly, the chili wasn't that good. Some people make some funky things. The best part was the car show. There was everything any man could ever dream of owning. My three favorite cars was a 1968 Dodge Charger, 1969 Dodge Challenger, and a Chevy Elcamino. I want them all. haha

Moving to California Pictures

Well, Kayli and I are finally in California. We got here Friday June, 6 2009 around 6p.m. The drive wasn't to bad. There was barely any traffic and we just cruised right along. It seemed like it took forever though once we got into Palm Springs. From there on its basically all city driving and takes forever. We were excited to see our new home and to see our rooms. The house is really nice. I'm downstairs in the bedroom. I got my own bathroom and everything. Now, we have the fun task of unpacking the house. It is taking forever. It's difficult when there are less rooms and storage space for the stuff but it'll all fit somehow. I applied at the grocery store just down the street from us so we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping I get it so I don't have to drive far for work and I can save money. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Our Last Week in AZ

So, this is it. We've finally finished packing our rooms and are on the move to wonderful California. You never realize how much crap you have in a room until you start to pack it. I threw out a ton of stuff but had to keep a lot too. As I was going through all the little things I have and was going to throw them away, I was thinking about the green chests my dad has out in the garage. He's got all these cool little toys he use to play with and I decided I had to keep some of my stuff too. So now I have boxes of little things so when I have kids they can be like, I can't believe you played with that. haha.

This past Sunday Kayli and I decided that we wanted to do one last lake trip before we made the big move. So, we went to Lake Roosevelt with Mom Cooke, Dad Cooke, Kyle, and Jeremy. We had such a good time. I'm so glad that my parents bought the boat so we can always have a good time. Its one of the happiest places on earth for me.
